Tuesday 4 pm Chair - Yoga with a chair
Tuesday 5:30 pm Stiff Guys & Gals (unless there’s a council meeting) - Balance work along with strengthening exercises
Wednesday 8am Morning Yoga - A gentle flow class that focuses on balance work and core.
I started my yoga practice in 1997 at the YMCA in West Seattle, it was a humbling and life-changing experience. I’ve always have had the ability to touch my toes but I could not balance in a tree pose. I that first class, I quickly realized there is no room for competition or judgment, everyone’s yoga practice is unique and different each and every day.
Our bodies are amazing with what we ask of them on a daily basis. Yoga is a wonderful way of giving back to the body, spirit, and mind.
I started teaching yoga at Crescent Moon during the Fall of 2012, after completing my 200 hour teacher training course. I became part owner of CMY in Fall of 2013 and full owner in Spring of 2015.
My training is with Anusara Yoga which focuses on alignment principles and muscle energy within the body. I became a registered yoga teacher completing 200 hours with Yoga Alliance in Oct 2012, and then completed an additional 300 hours to register as a RYT500 in August 2017. I feel I am still a student, learning and expanding my training every day to share with my yoga clients.
I’m a council person with the Town of La Conner since the Fall of 2021 in addition to working part-time for the last nine years at Nell Thorn, helping to bring good food to people in the valley. My additional training includes Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid, Cancer Exercise Specialists Program, SilverSneakers Programs including Yoga and I am an ordained minister. I am also a glass artist, a writer, a paddle boarder and Tula’s personal dog walker.
My background has been in sales, inventory management, shipping and receiving, merchandising and crew manager from bridal dresses to ladies shoes, from Levi’s to Ampeg Bass Amplifiers. Working with bands to brides... I’ve done it all. I’m so happy to be a part of La Conner and Crescent Moon Yoga. Hope to see you on your mat soon!

Thursday 10:30am - Morning Stretch - Get your morning started with a gentle Flow class. Ending class with an inspirational reading to set your day off right!
Dawn became interested in yoga after a 2007 Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis. With the help of her first yoga teacher, Robert Root, she found much needed peace on her yoga mat. Ever grateful for the calming of her mind, re-connecting with her soul and strengthening of her body after chemotherapy and radiation, Dawn knew she wanted to share the joy of yoga with others.
In 2013, Dawn earned her RYT-200 teacher training certificate from The Center for Yoga of Seattle. She has been teaching ever since.
Dawn shares yoga with her whole heart and adds a little humor & fun (and great music!). She hopes to help you live a life inspired by beauty, strength, grace and balance. She believes in yoga’s potential to integrate our physical, mental and spiritual aspects in full harmony. She is dedicated to supporting your unique expression of the art and science of yoga with knowledge, safe and fun instruction to enhance your well being.
